Shawlands Air Cadet goes to Israel
Seventeen year old David McGrath who stays in Deaconsbank and is a member of 2452 (Shawlands) Squadron Air Training Corps has been selected after two demanding Wing and Regional selection boards for the International Air Cadet Exchange Scheme to go to Israel for three weeks in July.
David has been a member of the Squadron for four years and in that time has had 8 flights in RAF aircraft and been taught to fly a glider completing a gliding scholarship, attended two leadership courses the last one being a very strenuous 8 day course at RAF Stafford and completed the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
David who is a Prefect in sixth year at Woodfarm High School says that he is delighted to be selected to be an ambassador for the Air Training Corps and that this will be the highlight of his service.
