Low Flying Training

Low Flying Training

On Sunday 6th February cadets and staff from 449 (Lanark) squadron joined with 1370 (Leven) squadron for a "hoverin" on Leven Beach.

Before the event the local Coast Guard were advised of the intended activities and the appropriate clearences obtained. The hovercraft were thoroughly inspected at the start of the day and all those taking part were given a safety briefing. For 4 hours the cadets and staff from both squadrons had a lot of fun as they gained valuable experience in flying the hovercraft. By the end of the event an appreciative crowd had gathered to watch, many asking questions. The Coast Guard also made an appearance to check the event and were very happy with the way it was being conducted.

All in all everyone had a great day out.
